Project: David Witherspoon 901 and 1630 Site Remediation; Tennessee Division of Superfund • Remediation of contaminated scrap metal recycling facility (901) and commercial landfill (1630) • Primary contaminants included uranium, polychlorinated biphenyls, and heavy and TCLP metals. • Actions included removing, treating, and disposing of rad contaminated scrap metal and debris, equipment, soil, and sediment, and demolishing facilities. • $35 million remediation project • As Task Order Manager for environmental management, Alliant provided: • CERCLA and RCRA compliance • Regulatory interface, both state and federal • Medical and biological waste management; RCRA waste management, characterization, treat, and disposal; cultural and natural resource studies; NEPA reviews and compliance; and field coordination • Innovative site characterization strategies, saving approximately $5 million in disposal alone • “Brownfield” objective accomplished ahead of schedule in FY2009 www.alliantcorp.com A VA-Certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business A VA-Certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business 8
