  2. BUSINESS EVENT APPRAISALS HRD & SAP SUPPORT CENTER We heard your requests…. and are implementing new functionality in Employee Self Service (ESS). Staff will now be allowed to complete Business Event Appraisals on the web as opposed to completing at designated workstations using the SAP GUI client. BUS EVENT APPRAISALS

Designed with end user in mind Browser based application (no SAP GUI client needed) Accessible from Intranet or Internet Available on any workstation meeting system requirements for ESS Accessible at employee’s convenience (24 X 7) Except during weekly scheduled maintenance (Sat 3 PM – Sun 6 PM) BENEFITS BUS EVENT APPRAISALS

ESS SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Windows -Microsoft IE version 5.0, 5.5 or 6.0 -Windows ’95 or ’98 or NT or 2000 -Netscape Navigator 4.76, 4.77 or 4.78 -Resolution: 1024 x 768 pixels -Browser Encryption: 128 bit -128 MB RAM or better (Recommended browsers for ESS can be downloaded from the ETS server) • Macintosh • -All Operating Systems • Resolution 1024 x 768 pixels • 128 MB RAM or better • Browser Encryption 128 bit • -OS 9.x and below • Netscape Navigator 4.76 4.77 or 4.78 • -OS X.x – Netscape Navigator 7.0 • (Recommended browsers for ESS can be downloaded • from the ETS server) BUS EVENT APPRAISALS

ESS All employees have access to ESS Login & Navigation instructions are included in the Business Event Appraisal Guide ESS User Guide is available on http://web/hrms/ess.htm Employees have ability to reset their own passwords in ESS Part-time/Temporary employees who have not logged on to ESS in 2+ years will have to request access to ESS. See web/hrms for SAP User Request Form Always use button in ESS NOT the browser back button ESS USER TIPS BUS EVENT APPRAISALS

  8. BE APPRAISAL TIPS • Appraisal screen automatically defaults to appraisals needing to be completed • Completed appraisals can be modified BUS EVENT APPRAISALS

BUSINESS EVENT APPRAISAL TIPS • Instructional subject area is for teachers to select area of certification • Non-instructional staff will only see Generic 9999 in this field • Questions 1- 8 require users to select a rating from the drop down menu • Rating scale – 5 Strongly Agree = highest rating • If users do not select a rating, the answer defaults to the highest rating Remind staff that the purpose of rating events is to provide data on the quality staff development in our district BUS EVENT APPRAISALS

INFORMATION TO SHARE WITH YOUR STAFF Effective 4/1/2004 all staff should complete Business Event Appraisals via ESS Suggestions • Download this PowerPoint to your site server to make it accessible to your staff for training purposes • Email your staff to inform them of this new ESS functionality and attach the instructions • Business Event Appraisal Instructions are available at http://web/hrd/(workplace) orwww.broward.k12.fl.us/hrd(off site) BUS EVENT APPRAISALS
