  1. Ivan Pomareda: Former Programmer Ivan Pomareda is a guitar maker who lives and works in Kansas City, Kansas. He is a former computer programmer who worked in Silicon Valley for eleven years before resigning to set up shop in his native Kansas City. Even as he worked at HelioCentric, Ivan Pomareda served as an apprentice luthier for seven years before establishing his own business. He builds new guitars and also does repairs and restorations.

A luthier is a maker of musical instruments like guitars and violins, says Ivan Pomareda, although he says that all he makes are guitars.
