WHAT IS A SERIAL KILLER? • they are individuals that studies, manipulates and suppresses their victims and their killing period extend from days to years if they are not captured or killed. • They are called serial killers because of their kill count. • The tittle did not surface until a FBI investigator Robert Ressler coined it to be a serial killer (Sullivan B. , 2013)

  5. FACTORS OF BECOMING A SERIAL KILLER • PSYCHOLOGICAL • BIOLOGICAL(CONTRIDICTRY) • BACKGROUND FACTOR ( FAMILIES )

  6. PSYCHOLOGICAL FACTOR • These involves their behaviors and disorders • Disorders such as Schizophrenia , Autism, schizotypal personality disorder, and a psychotic disorder. • They are psychopaths and sociopaths which lack sympathy for other individuals • their prefrontal cortex was damaged by accidents or when they were injured during their mother’s maternity.

  7. BIOLOGICAL FACTOR • Based on the genetic chromosome • These are the x females chromosomes and y male chromosomes • CRIMINAL GENE (Klinefelter’s syndrome) - emergence of a supplement type X chromosomes that leads to the formula 47XXY • CRIME GENE - the additional Y chromosomes which leads to the formula 47XYY

  8. BACKGROUND FACTOR ( FAMILIES ) • criminals that commit crimes came from dysfunctional and problematic homes • They’ll be disorientated from the group, mostly talking to themselves, have crime related fantasies and bullyrag others. • THERE FRIENDS OR NEIGHBOURS ARE ALSO THE INFLUENUAL FACTOR. • Ted Bundy.
