Configure​​​​Firewall​​​​&​​​​Internet​​​​Security​​​​of​​​​the​​​​QuickBooks​​​​Desktop In this article we discuss about ​ how to configure firewall & the internet security of the QuickBooks Desktop​ . The ​ firewall is an important application which prevents you from various threats, viruses, unwanted programs or so many other​​things​​which​​might​​infect​​the​​​QuickBooks​​​application. Steps​​​​to​​​​Manually​​​​Configure​​​​Exceptions​​​​&​​​​Ports​​​​to​​​​your​​​​Firewall ● Click​​ on​​ ​ Start​​​​menu​​​​ option. ● Click​​ on​​ ​ Window​​​​Firewall​​​​ option. ● On​​ the​​ right-hand​​ side,​​ click​​ on​​ ​ Advanced​​​​Settings​​​​ option. ● Right-click​​ ​ Inbound​​​​Rules​​​​ and​​ select​​ for​​ ​ New​​​​Rule​​​​ option. ● Click​​ on​​ ​ Port​​​​ option. ● Click​​ on​​ ​ Next​​​​ option. ● First​​ the​​ ​ TCP​​​​(Transfer​​​​Control​​​​Protocol)​​​​ is​​ selected. Note:​​​​If​​​​you​​​​have​​​​old​​​​QuickBooks​​​​then​​​​you​​​​will​​​​need​​​​to​​​​add​​​​each​​​​new​​​​ports​​​​for​​​​it. ● Click​​ on​​ ​ Next​​​​ and​​ confirm​​ ​ Allow​​​​the​​​​Connection​​​​ option​​ is​​ selected. ● Click​​ on​​ ​ Next​​​​ option​​ again. ● Give​​ the​​ rule​​ a​​ name,​​ such​​ as​​ QuickBooks​​ Ports. ● Click​​ on​​ ​ Fix​​​​Finish​​​​ option.

  2. In case there is still errors or problems with the connectivity then try to make exceptions to programs of QuickBooks then use the Windows Firewall. The following are instructions to solve this issues in QuickBooks. Click​​ on​​ ​ Start​​​​menu​​​​ option. Click​​ on​​ ​ Windows​​​​ ​ Firewall​​​​ option. ● ● ● On​​ the​​ right-hand​​ side,​​ Click​​ on​​ ​ Advanced​​​​Settings​​​​ option. ● Right​​ click​​ ​ Inbound​​​​Rules​​​​ and​​ click​​ on​​ ​ New​​​​Rule​​​​ option. ● Click​​ ​​ on​​ ​ Program​​​​ option. ● Click​​ on​​ ​ Next​​​​ option. ● Go​​ to​​ ​ Program​​​​Path​​​​ then​​ click​​ on​​ ​ Browse​​​​ option. ● Follow​​ the​​ instructions​​ given​​ by​​ the​​ dialog​​ box​​ of​​ QuickBooks. ● Click​​ on​​ ​ Next​​​​ option. ● Confirm​​ ​ Allow​​​​the​​​​Connection​​​​ is​​ fixed,​​ then​​ click​​ on​​ ​ Next​​​​ option​​ again. ● Confirm​​ all​​ the​​ profiles​​ are​​ tick​​ mark. ● Click​​ on​​ ​ Next​​​​ option. ● Give​​ the​​ rule​​ a​​ name​​ and​​ then​​ click​​ on​​ ​ Finish​​​​ option.
