  1. Epoxy coating What is an epoxy coating? Epoxy Coating A coating composite consists of two components: the first epoxy resin and the second polyamine hardener. When mixed, the resin and the hardener engage in chemical action so that they cross-link the components when they heal. When the epoxy coating is completely free, the resulting product is a durable, rigid plastic coating with many desirable mechanical properties. Why is epoxy coating used? The epoxy coating uses a mixture of two di?erent components in the floor coat. In kits purchased at a hardware or home improvement store you will mix a portion of epoxy resin with polyamine hardener. Unlike epoxy paint, this mixture will heal rather than dry. A concrete floor will benefit from this hard healing because the process seals the porous concrete.
