We all have them- outdated clothes lying around in our wardrobes that we don’t wear anymore. Due to nostalgic reasons we tend to keep them in the closet. Separation seems like a tough task. Some cupboard sins are bound to us as they cost a lot of money back then (D&G patchwork jeans) while some are sentimental (that senior year shirt signed by all your mates).

  2. We all have them- outdated clothes lying around in our wardrobes that we don’t wear anymore. Due to nostalgic reasons we tend to keep them in the closet. Separation seems like a tough task. Times have changed and so have the trends in fashion so now its time to change your wardrobe. A friendly reminder: the year is 2015 and not ‘06 or ‘96 and please, definitely not 1985.   5. 1. Square- toe shoes • Square toe shoes were big in the ‘90s. Unlike the urban street style from that decade making a comeback this season; all the formal shoes from the times of ‘Friends’ (the T.V. show) or Shaquille O’Neil (the basketball player) were really bad. Like a pest, the shoe still shows its vermin face from time to time. • The solution? Jeans that you’ve been walking on • I remember back in college when it was a trend to have the back side of your jean leg to be all ripped up because they were baggy and long enough that you would walk on them. Since then we all have come to our senses and realized that style is the one that is slim and fits more like a pair of suit pants than skater jeans. • This problem is caused by two ways. Either the length of the jeans is to long or the profile of your shoes is slim enough than your jeans slide right over them. • The solution?   7. 3. Anything Over-branded • Over-branded anything, like too many prints and pattern, speaks of laziness. It says, “I can’t be bothered curating a look today, so I’ll wear clothes that look expensive because of the brand.” • While the logo of the brand on the pocket of the shirt or seam can add a fine touch to a plain tee, a logo or statement- brand word should never be visible from more than a few meters away. • Remember: Style is not buying a mono branded outfit and wearing it till death like you did back in high school.   8. 4. Pushing the dapper look too far • Grandpa cardigans, loafers, shirts buttoned to the top, bow ties- it’s all very cute and a light hearted way of playing dress-ups.   9. Sock crimes • Socks with sandals, white socks with dress shoes, or no socks in a dressy environment are all blatant sock crimes. • The solution? Wear black socks with black shoes, formal socks with formal shoes, white tennis socks may be worn while doing sports activities. Sandals and socks may never consummate.
