Being a Product of the Product • One of the most important parts of this business is being a product of the product. • This means that you have to use a Beachbody product, get results and understand the value in it if you want to successfully recommend it to others. • Your passion and confidence in the product will make others confident in your recommendations. • One of the first things that you must do when you become a coach is get on Shakeology Home Direct. • If not, you don’t understand the importance of being a product of the product, and are showing me that you won’t take this business seriously. • It’s your responsibility to lead by example and explain this to your new coaches.

  3. Understanding the Investment • There is an investment in any business, and this one is no different. • Most people are not willing to put forth $120 if they don’t know what the product tastes like, and that’s why it’s important to always have Shakeology samples on hand. • It’s an investment to purchase boxes of Shakeology samples, but if you do it properly, your return will be much higher than the initial investment.

  4. Who to Contact • People will not request Shakeology samples unless they know that you’re sending them out. • Ask your friends and family if they want a sample. • Post that you’re sending out samples on Facebook, Twitter, your website, and for people to message you if they’re interested.

  5. Discovering Who is Serious • Because of the cost of purchasing samples and sending them out, it’s important that you make sure people are serious about purchasing a bag for themselves if they enjoy the taste. • If not, you’re going to be wasting your money. • This means you have to get them to understand the value in the product, and the way to do so is by breaking down the price. • I tell people that I used to go out to eat every day for lunch before I started using Shakeology, spending anywhere from $6-$10, not knowing how many calories I was taking in or whether or not what I was eating was healthy or not. Now I use Shakeology for lunch every day, costing me about $4 per serving, which is saving me money, and know I’m putting something healthy into my body. • You can either use my story or your own, just as long as you’re being honest.

  6. Showing Them the Value • If you show people the true value in Shakeology, then price will not be an issue. • There are a few ways to help people understand the value: • Share your success story and the stories of the people who are closest to you, your friends and family. • When people know your friends and family listened to your recommendations and got results, it builds your credibility and people will trust you. • Show them the 100 Doctors Don’t Lie DVD, Shakeology Breakthrough DVD, From the Fields DVD, or have them listen to the 100 Doctors CD. • Show them Shakeology reviews from customers of yours who have used Shakeology and gotten results with it. • What I do is have all of this information in one blog post, and make sure people read the post before I send them a sample.

  7. Make Sure You’re Their Coach • One of the most important things for you to do that most coaches forget about is making sure you’re their coach before you send a sample. • If you market online like I do, there might be other coaches and other coaches’ customers coming to you for “free samples.” • The last thing you want to do is send out a sample and another coach get the credit for the sale. • Make sure that they are your customer by going to your coach office and doing a customer search. • If they don’t have a coach, make sure you send them the link to make you their coach before sending out the sample. • If they requested a coach switch, make sure the switch was made.

  8. Responding to Sample Requests • Like I said, before you send out a sample, it's very important that you go through a selection process to make sure that the prospect is very serious about purchasing if they enjoy the taste, that you are their coach, and that they understand all the costs. If you don't, you're going to be losing quite a bit of money. • This is a process that I have made adjustments to for about a year now, and is the best in terms of your rate of return. Whenever someone approaches me on Facebook, Twitter, or even locally, here's what I say or send them. Feel free to use something similar (but don't copy)..

Sample Preparation • I send out all of my Shakeology samples in a 5X7 padded vanilla envelope that I purchase from Wal-Mart. • You can get 10 envelopes for about $4. • Make sure that you attach a letter that has your favorite recipe, the importance of getting on Home Direct, and how to purchase from you. • I wrap the letter around the sample, and then tape it to the sample so that the letter isn’t missed. • See next slide for my letter.

Follow Up • It’s important that you keep track of every person that you send a sample to so that you can follow up with them. • I usually wait a week or week and a half before emailing them and ask what they thought of the sample, and whether or not they are going to purchase. • Make sure they order from you and not Beachbody.com.
