  2. Introduction • ‘ There is nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact.’ • Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle. • Books : Stories of Sherlock Holmes, The Lost World. • Sir Conan Doyle known for his amazing skill of story telling.

  3. Early Years • Born in England but from Irish descent • Was sent to the Roman Catholic Jesuit preparatory school. • University of Edinburgh • Employed as a doctor in 1880 • Doyle’s father died in 1893

  4. Education • Doyle was sent to the Roman Catholic Jesiut preparatory school. • Went to Stonyhurst College. • He then Studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh • While studying he wrote short stories.

  5. Career and Accomplishments • First significant piece in 1886, A study in Scarlet. • Opened up successful medical practice. • Played Football for Portsmouth. • Published one of the best fictional stories.

  6. Personal Information • Five kids • Married and divorced his first wife. • Married his first love. • Doyle liked investigating cases

  7. Later Years • Rejects Catholic religion • Becomes agnostic • Writes two of the most famous books

  8. Conclusion • Very successful career • His stories turned into movies • Always wanted to write more • Died at the age of 71.
