  3. WHERE IS IT CELEBRATED? This is a catholic holiday celebrated world-wide especially in Spanish- speaking countries such as Puerto Rico, Bolivia, Spain, ect.

  4. What do they celebrate? It’s different everywhere. For some it’s because it’s the birthday of Saint John the Baptist. For others it’s to welcome summer. In Spain it is a holiday for cleansing the soul.

  5. When is it celebrated JUNE 23rd- 24th The night of June 23rd to the 24th

  6. Where did the holiday start? Spain, but their tradition spread like a wildfire. (Joke intended) Though each country changes it just a little.

  7. How did the holiday start? It was the coldest night of the year so they build bonfires to keep themselves warm and keep the darkness away

  8. TOURIST On http://www.caribbeanconsulting.com/?p=298 it says 5 minutes to midnight thousands of people flooded the beach, they were all well behaved and most of them were around 20-40 years old. Another website said they expected 6,000 people to participate in the 2010 celebration.

  11. Your favorite parts of the fiesta My favorite part is all the bonfires on the beach. Looking at the pictures the beach looks absolutely gorgeous with all orange fires filling the beach.
