8. Can we use first or second person (I, we, me, you, us, our, your) anywhere in the paper? NO
9. What happens if we intentionally plagiarize? You will receive a zero and be written up on a D-1 form
10. What happens if we unintentionally plagiarize on the rough draft? You will be warned and given a chance to fix it by the final draft.
11. What kinds of sources do we have to use? Reliable Internet sources
12. What kinds of sources can we not use? Wikipedia, personal blogs, papers from other students
13. What is the minimum number of sources we have to have? 4
14. Do we have to give credit to our sources in the paper? YES! If you don’t, you are plagiarizing!
15. How much of the paper has to be paraphrased or summarized from a source? The vast majority—no common knowledge
16. How many direct quotes am I allowed to have in my paper? How long can they be? No more than 2 quotes; no more than five lines long.
17. What happens if I don’t upload my paper into Turnitin.com? I will not grade it.
18. What if I don’t turn in a rough draft of the paper? You will receive a zero for that grade, but should still try to complete a final draft
19. Can I still turn in a final draft of the paper if I don’t turn in a rough draft? Yes, but you if you will not get any second chances with plagiarism or revisions.
20. What do I have to turn in with the paper? -printed paper -works cited page -all printed sources w/bibliography cards attached
