  2. What is Camp anchor? Camp A.N.C.H.O.R (Answering the Needs of Citizens with Handicaps through Organized Recreation) is a year-round recreation program dedicated to children and adults with special needs who reside within the Town of Hempstead. Our Fall/Winter/Spring Program provides activities after school and on Saturdays in various locations throughout the township.

  3. What camp anchor means to me Camp Anchor will forever hold a special place in my heart. For two years, I dedicated my summer and winter to this unbelievably special place. Camp Anchor taught me patience, kindness, and unconditional love. It taught me how to work with all kinds of people and how to embrace my own unique talents and ideas while working with others. There is no place on Earth that compares to the amazing environment created by Camp Anchor.
