  1. I Surrender My Goods Today we will examine our 2013 theme, “I Surrender All” The question we must ask and answer is, “Am I All In?” This must include every aspect of our lives

  2. I Surrender My Goods We often think of what we have materially as “our stuff” Surrendering our all to God begins with having the mindset that it all belongs to God We are Merely stewards of God’s things

  3. I Surrender My Goods Ps. 24:1 – “The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein” Hag. 2:8 – “’The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine’, says the Lord of hosts.”

  4. I Surrender My Goods What is our attitude towards what we have materially? What does the bible say about these things? Am I willing to surrender all when it comes to the “Temporary things”?

  5. The Bible says... The Bible has so much to say on the topic of money and giving Obviously, we recall the OT teaching of tithing (Gen. 14:20; Num. 18:21; Lev. 27:30) Giving has always been important to God

  6. The Bible says... The NEWTESTAMENT commands us to give as well I Cor. 16:1-2 Acts 20:35 – Jesus had said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive”

  7. The Bible says... Lk. 6:38 – “Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

  8. The Bible says... We see a common collection being taken by the church in Acts 2:45; 4:34-37 The evidence is there God wants us to give and lays out the example of it in the NT

  9. Power Of Attitude What is your attitude towards giving? Do you hate to part with your money? Our Attitude is our outlook on things, and it will determine how we respond

  10. Power Of Attitude I Cor. 16:2 – Give as we prosper Are we thankful for what God has done for us? Those most aware of blessings and are thankful for them are the best givers (Deut. 8:18)

  11. Power Of Attitude II Cor. 8:2 – Liberality in giving How liberal are you in your giving? II Cor. 8:12 – There must first be a willing mind

  12. Power Of Attitude II Cor. 9:7 – Not grudgingly or of necessity; but rather cheerfully What about the poor widow in Mark 12:41-44 Who in that story had the attitude of “I surrender all”?

  13. Heart Problem How do we view what we have? Do We view It as a blessing from God? Do we hold on to the temporary as if it is eternal? I John 2:15-17

  14. Heart Problem Matt. 6:19-21 – Jesus said not to lay up treasures on earth Remember that where your treasure is, there your heart will be also ask the RYR where his heart was

  15. Heart Problem What about the Rich Fool in Luke 12:13-21? His problem was not a money problem, but a heart problem I Tim. 6:10 – “...LOVE OF MONEY IS A ROOT OF ALL KINDS OF EVIL”

  16. Heart Problem Luke 16:10-15 – Your Heart cannot be in two places When we surrender all, it must include our things Are we willing to let go of our “stuff”?

  17. Trust issues Not Surrendering Earthly things could revolve around trust issues Do we trust in the promises of God? Matt. 6:25-34 – God promises to take care of us

  18. Trust issues Lk. 6:38 – God promises to bless us beyond belief if we will give God challenged the Israelites to test him on giving – Mal. 3:10 Do you believe the promises of God?

  19. Our Giving All In all, the issue of giving is a personal one SO we all must take a look into our hearts to see if we are measuring up to god’s standards on giving

  20. Our Giving We do not give simply to meet a budget We are giving back to god to show our love, support, and appreciation for Him and His work God does care about our giving

  21. Our Giving Do we give God our “firsts” or our “Leftovers”? Our Love is reflected in our giving (I Jn. 3:16-18) What does your giving say about you?
