  2. Where did we settle? • The Portuguese settled in Brazil mostly, and part of the north East US.

Who were the famous explorers? • The famous Portuguese explorers were: • Bartholomieu Diaz- went around tip of Africa cape of good hope. • Vasco de Gama-Sailed to India • Joao Vaz Corte-Real – New Found land • Varrazano– Rhode island • Pedro Alvares Cabral- explored Brazil • Henry the Navigator- funded explorers

  4. What did you do? • Created huge farmlands

  5. How did you interact with the natives? • They enslaved the natives in exchange for enlightment.

  6. How did you interact with other Europeans who may have settled in the same areas? • No one could settle in Brazil because of an explorers treaty. Their settlement was small.
