Class Rules • No food or drink • Stay in seats • Always sign out when leaving classroom and sign in upon returning. • Use appropriate language • Keep appropriate body space • Ask to use computers • Violations : 1.Verbal warnings will be given first. 2. Next, a “teacher given” detention or a phone call will be made . 3. Lastly, administrative intervention.

  4. Class Procedures • Use three-ring binder for both Language Arts and Math. All work is to be stored in binder. • We will slowly create “text books” for each subject.

  5. Our focus? • We will follow the Content Standards for each grade level, 9-12 as set by the state of Ohio. • Standards will be taught through varied techniques and individual styles. • We will teach standards through your child’s IEP goals and objectives.

  6. Language Arts Topics • Focus on reading fluency, reading and auditory comprehension, writing mechanics and the writing process. • We will use various texts, videos, auditory tapes and technology. • We will cover research, reporting (power point, posters, written reports, term papers, pamphlets, etc.), literary devices, literary styles, and a variety of genres (poetry, myths, comics and Shakespeare)

  7. Math Topics • Math class is primarily from OGT preparation books and will be supplemented by the Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and Geometry texts. • Lessons on problem solving, changing number forms, equations, formulas, measurements, ratios, discounts, story problems, basic math functions with fractions, decimals, and percents, translations and rotations.
