  2. IMR: The need for change • Hardware sized for 1,000 users and 60,000 new claims a year • Growth has clearly exceeded the designed capacity This is a large, vital piece of Market Infrastructure

  3. Big – planned capacity growth to meet demand Speedy – improved Service Levels Resilient - no single points of failure & enhanced DR IMR2 requirements were conceived

  4. This translated into • New Hardware • New data centre • Hardware, storage and networks replaced • New Software • Core Repository software upgraded • Appearance of screens changed

  5. New hardware • 70 new servers • 19 kilometres of copper cable • 7 environments • 77 switches & routers • 14 firewalls • 8 databases • 1 Global site selector A complex undertaking

  6. New Software • Every screen was changed and had to be tested along with all functions • This required extensive (and occasionally painful!) testing involving the following organisations Thank You

Some issues Two outages in the first week Online system 2 hours Monday, DRI 8 hours Tuesday Viewing and uploading of documents Large claims files, ACL issue Desktop Issues Browser cache, cookies, Proxies and firewalls Functionality Small number of functional issues to be addressed Performance Anecdotal evidence suggests this is improved

What’s next? 2009 IMR Security Model Nov 09 MTBC, MTMC, Confidential Terms, TPA, Conflict of Interest eAccounts Release 1 Nov 09 non-fundamental messaging, autoload to core systems 2010 eAccounts Release 2 Q2 acceptance of fundamental-level submissions and rollout of a central Accounting Splits service ECF2 Q1 / Q2 Document File Viewer, Claims Workflow Triggers, Claims Performance, Claims Workflow Service, Claims Agreement Screens
