Objectives Upon completion of this activity, the participant will be able to: • Demonstrate how to access data tables and graphs in the Comprehensive Data System (CDS) • Export data tables from CDS to Excel • Export run charts from the CDS and insert them into a Progress Report • Use Excel tools for creating charts and graphs • Prepare HEN data for reporting to others

  3. Accessing CDS Data 1. Select Reports tab 2. Select Topic 3. Select Measure

  4. Data Table Data by month appears in data table

  5. Exporting Data

  6. Exporting Data • Click on ‘Export to Excel’ button • Select ‘Open’ • Warning message appears • Select ‘Yes’ • Opens the file as an html file • Select File Save As and save the file as an Excel spreadsheet in your preferred location

  7. Exporting Charts Select Chart Tab Print or Download Options

  8. Exporting Charts Select ‘Measure Comparison’

  9. Downloading Charts • Click on the Download button • Two choices • Download PNG image • Download PDF document • PNG Image (portable network graphic) • Select ‘Open’ or ‘Save’ • May open the image with Paint and add annotations, then insert into Progress Report • If select ‘Open’, can Right-click and copy, then paste directly into your Progress Report
