  3. The Trail of Tears caused great suffering among the Native American people Dear Mrs. D: I am carrying all of my possessions on my back. My family and I are on the long walk West to Indian Territory. I am fearful that, in losing our land, we will be unable to hunt for food or properly care for our children. I feel great sadness at the loss of our homeland. I am afraid this is not the end of our suffering. FRONT Mrs. Deisenroth 19600 Cull Canyon Rd Castro Valley, CA 94552 BACK
