Hopi. By Hunter & George. Art. The art they did was mostly pottery. Sometimes they make baskets. Plus they painted faces for fun and holidays/ special days. Language. The Hopi use English this present day. But in the past they spoke a familiar language that the Aztecs used.

  2. Art • The art they did was mostly pottery. • Sometimes they make baskets. • Plus they painted faces for fun and holidays/ special days.

  3. Language • The Hopi use English this present day. • But in the past they spoke a familiar language that the Aztecs used. • The Hopi language is very difficult to learn.

  4. Food • The first southwest native Americans hunted mammoths before they went extinct. Now days they hunt buffalo/bison, they also collect wild plants, and learned how to grow maize and corn.

  5. Transportation • They mostly just walked to there destination. • Also they used dogs to pull a type of sled. • Later on the Europeans brought horses and it was easier to travel.

  6. Clothing • “The clothing that they wore depended on the weather”. When it was hot they didn’t wear as much clothing. • Some Hopi women wore earrings before they got married. • The women dressed in flowers with paint also they wore feather headdresses.

  7. weapons • They used bows and arrows. • Also they used spears to defend their land. • Plus they fought with knifes.

  8. Toys • The Kachina dolls were carved out of wood by the Zuni and Hopi tribes. They give them mask and costumes to look like the men who dressed up as Kachina spirits . They give them to children to teach them identify the different parts of Kachina dolls ,and parts they play in tribal ceremonies.

  9. Tools • The tools they used wooden farm implements spindles and looms. • They also did pump drills in holes. • Later in their past they used wool.

  10. What contributions have they made to present day society • The Hopi used bows and arrows like we do today. • Their women ware earrings like our women do. • They grow corn for food like we do.
