  3. Hopi Homes • The roof is made of grass,brush and mud. • The walls and floors are made of stones and clay. • When the house got to crowded you would build a new room.

  5. Hopi Clothing • If you got cold you wore loose pants and a shirt.. • Boys wore Breech cloth or a kilt. • Girls wore mantas. • Hopi children in the summer usually wore nothing at all. • Babys wore nothing.

  7. Hopi Food • The Hopi planted their corn near steambeds called washes. • Hopi had special corn called Desert corn. • Different kinds of corn Include yellow,white,blue,speckled and reds.

Other Interesting Hopi Facts • Hopi men were farmers. • As soon as a baby was born,blankets were hung over the windows and entrances,no sunlight was allowed to shine on the mother and baby on the twentieth day before the sun was up your father gave you a signal then you get taken outside before sunrise then your grandmother gave you a sacred name when sun touched your face you were presented to the sun god,tawa the god of life. • Hopi men got salt from the Grand canyon .

  9. You might walk 200 miles to live with other indians there you and your family would work for enuff food.
