In today's session, you will work in groups to analyze characters from Arthur Miller's "The Crucible." Each group will receive a large poster and marker to summarize key aspects of their assigned character, focusing on who or what tests the character and how the character tests others. Groups will present their findings to the class. Tomorrow, an in-class writing will assess your understanding of these characters, utilizing your notes and the text, but no phones or collaboration with peers will be allowed. Capture a photo of your posters after class!

Today… • You will be placed in a group. • Your group will be given a large sheet of paper and a marker. • Your group will be assigned a character from “The Crucible,” and you will be asked to provide information on two aspects of that character. • Your group will also present this information to the class.
Tomorrow… • You will be doing an in-class writing tomorrow based on the characters in “The Crucible.” You are allowed to use your notes and the play; however, you are NOT allowed to use your phone or another classmate.
About the character that you are assigned… • You are to provide information on: • What/whom serves as a test for that character? Meaning what forces/characters in the play threaten your assigned character? • What/whom does your character test? Meaning what forces/characters in the play are threatened by your assigned character? WHEN CLASS IS OVER, YOU MAY TAKE A PHOTO OF THE ACCUMULATED POSTERS; HOWEVER, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO USE YOUR PHONE ON THE WRITING TOMORROW!
