  1. The Impact of FFP on the School Setting-The Students: • Are able to interact with and observe peers who stutter, sometimes for the first time. • Are able to form friendships with other children who stutter. • Are able to generalize some of the skills and attitudes they are developing in their school therapy program. • Are able to take back to school some of the skills and attitudes they develop at FFP.

  2. The Impact of FFP on the School Setting-The SLPs: • Experience a “hands-on” PD event, i.e. parent counseling, fluency experts doing therapy, listening/viewing stuttering, attitudes and experiences of Children Who Stutter (CWS) of all ages/severity. • Receive the updated Fluency Friday manual to use as a “go to” resource for fluency therapy. • Share and consult with other SLPs outside the isolation of their own school. • Supervise grad students and learn fresh approaches to fluency therapy • Provide “minutes of service” to children who stutter in regard to each child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).. • Bring the FFP experience back to their school, i.e. Lunch Bunch, classroom presentations, etc.

  3. The Impact of FFP on the School Setting-The Families: • A “life-changing experience”. • Learn what to expect in the future for their family member who stutters. • Receive counseling and a chance to openly discuss their fears, concerns, and questions with other families and fluency experts. • Be a cheerleader and observer of their CWS as they succeed and meet their challenges.

  4. The Impact of FFP on the School Setting-The Community: • Learns much about stuttering from the SLPs and children who return to the community from Fluency Friday Plus. • Develops a new respect for the CWS as they return and are excited about FFP. • Supports a group of students who do not get much recognition for their successes.
