Feedback from the Admissions Practitioner Group (1) On UCAS generally: Shift in approach to HEIs from practitioners to VCs, and a possible role for ARC UCAS governance changes – new Board (21 to 12) and brand new Advisory Council UCAS assurances on solving technical problems of 2011 (Track) and 2012 (Weblink and Track) But......UCAS Track, odbc and Weblink all down this week just before DBD. Results embargo reminder from UCAS Reviewing of our (UCAS) shared operational rules, in the face of the disintegration of some New UCAS course finder – nervousness about format, data and lack of consultation

Feedback from the Admissions Practitioner Group (2) On UCAS APR specifically, UCAS recommendations have been reviewed by ARC APG and new solutions proposed: Clearing referrals will begin at 9.00am on the Friday after A level Thursday CF/CI pending offer holders will receive a message via UCAS describing why they have no decision yet plus ‘near miss’ CF/CI pending will be encouraged to enter Clearing Don’t agree that decision deadline should be moved from early May to mid April To work with UCAS on a variable start date solution, creating new mini cycles with their own application, decision and acceptance deadlines. For each course choice, communicated online.
