  2. Norway Convention Bureau • 21 members ( destinations, hotel chains, venues, airline) • No official funding from the government • Staff: 3 persons • Original budget from membership: 525 000 € • New budget after finding new sponsorship: 837 500 €

  3. Case: We need more funding! • Airport authority in Norway = Avinor • Makes a lot of money on tax when flights are arriving the country • Growth of low cost airlines - good business for Avinor! • Avinor wanted to re-invest some of the money in the travel industry

  4. Sent out tender to the travel industry for a 3 year cooperation project • We had to sell them a message of money • We need 375 000 euro • Target 50 000 new passengers • Avinor makes 15.6 euro per passenger in tax = 781 250 € to Avinor.

  5. Results and positive spin offs • 2007: 42 000 new passengers • 2008: 40 000 new passengers • Avinor - positive image in the industry • The project has created a strong cooperation among our members • Invest together in: - advertising - fam trips - campaigns - etc. ””Light show” - by mother nature
