  5. Placement Scores • Rule 6A-10.0315 authorizes assessments and minimum college ready scores for postsecondary course placement purposes • P.E.R.T. Placement interim college ready scores were approved by the State Board of Education in December 2011 • The interim scores were identified using results from pilot testing and prior placement rates for the Acculplacer/CPT • Concerns expressed by colleges that placements are too high based on the interim scores • DOE is in the process of analyzing statewide data based on P.E.R.T. Placement scores and student course performance • McCann Associates and the DOE are planning standard setting over summer/early fall to establish permanent cut scores

Diagnostics are not required • McCann Associates will improve student performance reports • Performance reports may be used by students and faculty to pinpoint areas of deficiency • May be administered prior to P.E.R.T. Placement to idenitfy areas of weakness beforehand

  10. In the works… • Ongoing P.E.R.T. Placement item review and approval • P.E.R.T. Placement paper version is now available, remaining issue with scantron/booklet bundles for high schools • P.E.R.T. Placement Score Repository for school districts and postsecondary institutions to retrieve official scores • Data analysis of fall 2011 Florida College System course placement data based on P.E.R.T.
