1. Beaver The animal I researched was the beaver. Beavers are mammals. They live in the woods of New York State.

2. Physical Attributes Beavers have unique features. All beavers have webbed feet. Most beavers have very flat tails. They have very large front teeth. Beavers use them to cut down the trees. Not only to eat the bark from the trees but they use the sticks and bark from the trees to make their dams. Beavers have dark brown fur.

3. Habitat and Shelter The type of shelter beavers build are called lodges . Their lodge has two for the beaver. Beavers build their lodges out of sticks and mud. The beaver bites the trees down and the beaver eats some bark and sticks. They use the rest of the bark and sticks to build their lodges.

4. Diet and Predators Beavers like to eat many things. All of a beavers food is found in nature. Most beavers like to eat stems from plants. Lots of beavers also like to eat plant leaves. Other beavers like to eat tree bark.

5. Interesting Facts Beavers can hold their breath for as long as fifteen minutes. Another really cool fact is that beavers enter their lodge through an under water tunnel. One other fact is that beavers make their lodges out of sticks and mud.
