    7. Joseph Stalin was born is 1879. He was the leader of the Soviet Union and lead his country through World War II. General secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Unions Central Committee from 1922-1953

    8. What was his relationship to totalitarianism?

    9. He was dictator of the Soviet Union from 1927-1953 One main reason he wanted to control the Soviet Union was to turn all people into Homo Sovieticus (which is a category of people with a specific mindset)

    11. Adolf Hitler was a dictator that ruled Germany from 1933 to 1939. Never thought of being a dictator, but an artist. He also thought of political observations.

    13. When Germany surrendered in World War I, Hitler became furious and attempted to save Germany. He became the chancellor(prime minister) Months later, he became the dictator of Germany.

    21. Similarities: They both control the government They both dont allow political opposition or competitive politics. Differences: Totalitarianism controls every aspect of the peoples lives. Authoritarianism governs people without the consent of those being governed.
