Day 1Durban - JHB - Amsterdam Arrive and check in at King Shaka Int. Airport for your domestic flight to OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg. On arrival, check in for your flight to Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam. Overnight flight to Amsterdam.
Day 2 Amsterdam After arriving at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, going through customs and collecting your luggage, you will meet up with your coach and driver who will transfer you to Stayokay Vondelpark where you will check in on arrival. You will also be issued your 72 hour GVB travel tickets on arrival - these will cover your transport around Amsterdam for the next 3 days. Enjoy seeing the sights of Amsterdam this afternoon, before returning to the Stayokay for dinner this evening.
Day 3Amsterdam Enjoy breakfast at Stayokay, followed by a morning at leisure to explore Amsterdam and all it has to offer. After lunch you have an opportunity to transfer to Amsterdam or Pinoke HC to watch a Hoofdklasse hockey fixture. Return to the Stayokay for dinner this evening.
Day 4Amsterdam Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. Transfer using your GVB tickets to Amsterdam HC for a specialist coaching session this morning. After lunch, you have some time at leisure before transferring back to Amsterdam HC via public transport for Match 1 of the tour. MATCH 1 vs Amsterdam HC, enjoy some time together with the team from Amsterdam HC before returning to the hotel for dinner this evening.
Day 5Amsterdam - Bloemendaal After breakfast at Stayokay this morning, the coach will collect the group and transfer them to Zaanse Schans. Spend the morning at leisure sightseeing at the delightful village of Zaanse Schans with its characteristic green wooden houses, charming gardens, historic windmills and engaging little shops. After lunch this afternoon, transfer to Bloemendaal for MATCH 2 of the tour. This evening you will be hosted by families from Bloemendaal HC and enjoy dinner and an evening at leisure with them.
Day 6bloemendaal to hoeksche waard After breakfast with your hosts, the coach will collect the group from the club this morning. You have the morning at leisure to explore Bloemendaal before departing for Mijnsheerenland. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. This afternoon, transfer to Hoeksche Waard HC for MATCH 3 of the tour, to be followed by a dinner at the club and a short get together afterwards. Depart with your host families for the evening.
Day 7hoeksche waard to Rotterdam After breakfast, the group will be collected from Hoeksche Waard HC and transferred to Zoetermeer. On arrival at SnowWorld, you will collect your equipment and enjoy a morning of Skiing, snowboarding and tubegliding! Please ensure you bring warm clothing and gloves! Lunch is included at Snowworld this afternoon. After lunch, transfer to Victoria HC in Rotterdam for MATCH 4 of the tour. Depart with your hosts for dinner and an overnight stay this evening.
Day 8Rotterdam Enjoy breakfast with hosts - group to be collected from Victoria HC and transferred to Rotterdam HC for a specialized coaching session this morning. Lunch is excluded at a venue of your choice. After lunch, transfer to Rotterdam Stayokay and check in for your overnight stay. Later this afternoon you will transfer to Rotterdam HC for MATCH 5 of the tour. Return to the Stayokay for dinner and a relaxing evening in Rotterdam.
Day 9rotterdam to eindhoven After breakfast, check out and transfer to Rotterdam Harbour for a Spido Harbour Cruise this morning. A visit to Rotterdam would be incomplete without a trip round its world-famous harbour on the Spido Cruise this morning. Peek behind the scenes and get an up-and-close view of Europe’s largest port, by taking a 75 minute harbour cruise. See the shipyards, docks and quays up close and be a part of the heavy traffic of seagoing vessels and inland sailing ships on a river that brought glory to Rotterdam. After lunch this afternoon, depart for Eindhoven. On arrival, transfer to Eindhoven HC to arrive at the club, meet your hosts, enjoy dinner together and then depart with your host families for the rest of the evening.
Day 10 Eindhoven After breakfast with your hosts, meet at Eindhoven HC for MATCH 6 of the tour. Enjoy some time at leisure with the team from Eindhoven after your match. Enjoy lunch, then transfer to a local club / match venue to watch a Hoofdklasse match this afternoon. We return to Eindhoven HC to meet your hosts and depart with them for the rest of the evening.
Day 11Eindhoven to Boxmeer Enjoy breakfast with your hosts, collect the group from Eindhoven HC and enjoy the morning at leisure to explore and see the sights. Visit the National War Museum, followed by lunch at a venue of your choice. This afternoon you will transfer to Boxmeer HC for MATCH 7 of the tour. After the match, meet up with your hosts and depart with them for the evening. Dinner is included with your hosts.
Day 12Boxmeer to Amsterdam Breakfast with your hosts, after which the group will be collected from the club and depart for De Hoge Veluwe National Park. The park is a conservation area with over 5000 hectares of woodland, heathland, grassland and sand drifts, providing endless options for enjoying a bit of peace and quiet. Ramble along well-marked paths, use the Park’s walking map or the cycle paths with the bicycles supplied, giving you a chance to encounter Red Deer, Mouflon and Wild Boar. After lunch, continue onto Amsterdam where you will check into the Stayokay Vondelpark on your arrival and receive a 24hr GVB card for transport around Amsterdam – the coach will depart here. Dinner is included at the Stayokay this evening.
Day 13Amsterdam Breakfast is included at Stayokay this morning. Use your GVB tickets to visit the Anne Frank Museum this morning, followed by some time at leisure for sight-seeing. Enjoy lunch at the venue of your choice and the rest of the day at leisure to explore, shop and relax. Dinner is included at the Stayokay this evening.
Day 14Amsterdam to JHB After breakfast it’s time to pack your bags and checkout. A coach will collect the group from Stayokay and transfer them to Schiphol Airport. On arrival you will check in for your return flight home to South Africa!
Day 15Johannesburg to Durban Arrive at OR Tambo International airport after your overnight flight from Amsterdam. Check in for your domestic flight to Durban – Welcome Home!
