  2. Rubric ComponentMetadata punctuation for quality Task 3.1 QUAlity aware VIsualisation for the Global Earth Observation system of systems

  3. Original DoW Description • This task develops a tool to identify quality indicators from existing metadata documents and will be able to read information from different file formats and process this information. Since quality parameters were left open in 19115, this tool will integrate quality description into the unified model specified in Task 6.1.

  4. Metadata punctuation for quality • The rubric quality punctuation is based on the version: 1.0.3 (Rubric, 2012). This is a project under the NOAA (National Geodetic Survey, National Ocean Service, NOAA, U.S. Department of Commerce) development. • Targets: • To help providers to assess the completeness of their metadata records in general and on quality aspects in particular, • To help them to evaluate how many metadata elements related to quality are provided. • To help users in a better understanding of metadata

  8. RubricQualityextension • Two new information groups related with ISO quality have been added to the initial sheet, • Quality • Usage • We have extended the rubric previous information to include all the lineage details related with data quality • In ISO 19115:2003 standard the lineage information is a class pending from DQ_DataQuality.

  15. RubricQualityextension • In the Quality elements table, different colours distinguish several results • Quantitative: green • Qualitative: blue • Coverage: yellow

  16. Quality punctuation • The rubric scoring method is based on the presence or absence of the information • attributing one point to metadata that contain certain information, but not penalizing those metadata which does not have some information • Global punctuation • Specific punctuation for each table
