Equalities in recruitment

This report examines the recruitment data from 15 boroughs, focusing on over 72,000 applications which led to 16,500 shortlisted candidates and 4,500 appointments. It highlights the gender make-up of applicants within Local Government, differentiating between male and female candidates. Furthermore, it offers insights into the representation of BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) individuals and compares the statistics of non-disabled versus disabled candidates. The findings aim to assess compliance with equality standards and identify areas for improvement in local recruitment practices.
