  2. Music people listen to before 1920 . How did music change during the 1920 • People listened to classical music. It changed from signing and actual lyrics to just smooth music. That’s why now some people call jazz “Smooth Jazz”.

  3. What is jazz? Were does it originate? How did it spread? • Jazz is a type of music of black American characterized by improvisation, syncopation, and usually a regular or forceful rhythm. • Jazz originated in the USA. The African slaves gathered after a hard days work on the plantations and made the music we now refer to as jazz.

  4. Famous Jazz musicians • Some famous jazz musicians were Art Barkely,(in picture below) Duke Ellington,(shown below) and Art Tatum.

  5. How did jazz affect white American culture? • Jazz did not remain solely in the domain of American music, for very quickly it swept through virtually all of the national culture as fiction, poetry, film, photography, painting, and classical music

  6. Blues! What was the blues? how did the blues originate? The blues came from African Americans manly deep south • The blues is made up of jazz, rhythm , rock & roll , blues rock. Its more dancing music with a fast beat and movment

  9. New music & dance during the 1920 • The new music was more fun and had a good vibe and beat. The new dance made you move with the music and it was fast

  10. Is new music and dance social, moral, political or economic • Its social because it brought people together people learned new dance moves people got to teach each other the dance moves and every one just had a good time
