Incoming ROTC Students, Fall 2009

Incoming ROTC students for Fall 2009 should take note of important dates and requirements! Summer Physical Training (PT) runs from June 1 to August 17 (M, W, F at 0800-0900). Key events include the Diagnostic APFT on July 8 and Cadet Orientation from August 19-21, essential for paperwork and equipment issuance. Cadets must complete all requirements, including passing the PT test, before contracting. Don’t miss the July 24 deadline for enrollment and ROTC Move-In Day. LOBO BN Informational Newsletter 24 June 2009 Incoming ROTC Students, Fall 2009 Important Dates: Jun. 1 – Aug. 17: Summer PT (Physical Training M,W,F 0800-0900) July 8: Diagnostic APFT July 24: RSVP for Cadet Orientation August 19-21: Cadet Orientation August 24: First Day of Class Before contracting, cadets must meet all requirements including passing a PT test!!! Diagnostic APFT (Army Physical Fitness Test) for all scholarship cadets will be: Wednesday, July 8 at 0730 (If unable to attend due to travel, cadets may arrange an alternate date) ROTC Move-in Day Cadet Orientation: August 19-21 • Cadet Orientation will begin at 0800 at Lower Johnson Field. • New cadets will be introduced to ROTC, briefed on ROTC policies, issued basic equipment, and introduced to other new cadets. • Cadet Orientation also gives cadets a chance to complete all required paperwork needed to contract. • Cadets will receive a custom tour of campus in order to familiarize themselves with campus buildings and activities. • Scholarship stipends do notstartuntil contracting is complete. Any lost stipend due to late contracting will not be back paid. • Deadline for enrollment in ROTC Move-In Day: • July 24, 2009 • ROTC Move-In allows students to move-in at the same time as their fellow cadets. It eases the stress that coincides with starting college and allows cadets to complete contracting before school starts. • To schedule ROTC Move-In, Contact CPT Vargas or 2LT Weeks at (505) 277-2288 or (505) 277-2275 No Later Than July 24th.
