  2. Campus Representatives: • Current status • Approximately 101 Representatives • 73 have joined the commons in response to an outreach program. • 2 have responded to requests for comments bringing into question the complexities of interaction in the commons.

  3. What are we asking for?

  4. Campus Representatives: Duties Campus representatives serve an important grassroots role in communicating campus-­‐based “teaching with technology” concerns between their campuses, the FACT2 Council and SUNY system resources. Is this actually happening?

  5. Campus Representatives: Duties • Monitoring and sharing electronic announcements from SUNY service providers, including the SUNY Center for Professional Development to their campus faculty and instructional staff. A survey of the reps suggests that this is not happening in most campuses and that many reps do not have direct access to tools of distribution.

  6. Campus Representatives: Duties • Communicating Council news and information to the faculty and appropriate staff, including – but not limited to – the opportunity to serve on SUNY wide FACT2 Task Groups. Once again it is not likely that distribution of information is happening effectively and just 11 reps volunteered to participate in task groups.

  7. Campus Representatives: Duties • Gathering formal input from their campus constituents (through surveys, polls, etc.) as well as informal input (through campus service and committee work) to communicate campus-­‐ based issues to the Council. Informal input has been communicated in the webinars. This method seems relatively effective.

  8. Campus Representatives: Duties • Representing the majority concern and opinion of their constituents at meetings at the annual Conference on Instruction & Technology (CIT) each spring, or at other meetings as called by the Council. It is not clear if there is any device on any campus that communicates the majority concerns to the reps, nor is there anyone representing that belief.

  9. What to do? Ask the reps. Reboot the concept at CIT with a coordinated effort to collect feedback and ideas from the reps. • What is achievable? How can we connect our goals with an achievable result? • What tools? • Let the reps participate in the process!

  10. Thoughts • Promote the CIT agenda in advance to boost attendance at the luncheon. • Solicit discussion and feedback • Use the event to offer opportunities for reps join committees and task groups. • Revise bylaws in response to feedback and achievable goals.
