My Unit 38 Powerpoint. Adam Millward. Birds Flapping. I believe that the sound I have recorded to imitate the sound of a bird flapping its wings was quite good. However, to have made improvements to this I would have used a better quality sound recorder as I only used my phone. AAC Audio File.

My Unit 38 Powerpoint Adam Millward
Birds Flapping I believe that the sound I have recorded to imitate the sound of a bird flapping its wings was quite good. However, to have made improvements to this I would have used a better quality sound recorder as I only used my phone. AAC Audio File The quality of this recording to one on another device is very low in comparison so I should use a different device.
Hydraulic Footsteps AAC Audio File When we made this sound I think that to make it sound more realistic we could have used a microphone that would have picked up the sound better. The quality of this recording is very poor compared to recordings on other devices. To improve this I would have to do my recording on a different device.
Metal Bang AAC Audio File For the metal bang the only thing that I believe that would have made it better would be to have not had the echo, and also to not of had the bang on the microphone. The quality of my recording is very poor as it was done on my phone so I’ll need to use a different device.
Sploosh AAC Audio File The sploosh sound was the one that I was most pleased with as I thought it sounded the most realistic out of all of them. The quality of this noise I believe is of very realistic. However to improve this sound it would be better if the sound was a better quality.
Vox Pops/ Hard Brock AAC Audio File Out of all of the sounds that I recorded this one is the one that I was most disappointed with because the quality of the recording is very poor. The quality of this recording is very poor and it is difficult to find any particular noises from this recording. To improve this I need a device that records sounds better and maybe focus on a specific sound, perhaps people talking.
Walking on gravel: fast AAC Audio File When it came to the walking sound effects I think that the recording was good it was just the volume that it was recorded at. This recording is a good quality recording, however compared to using different devices it could be better.
Walking on gravel: slow AAC Audio File As I said with the fast walking the only thing I have to criticize is the volume of the recording and the quality. The quality of this recording is good enough to tell what it is however it could be improved.
To assign effects to a channel in Logic Pro you would need to press and hold over the “insert” tab and find the sort of effect you are wanting and then just choose it. To assign the EQ to a channel you would need to click and hold on the “insert” tab the same as you do when inserting an effect, and then you hold over EQ, and then select what type of EQ you want. In Logic Pro there are two different types of tracks. There are blue tracks and there are also green tracks. The blue tracks are “wave” files, whereas the green files are lots of short noises – known as MIDI. The Automation tool in Logic Pro is to enable the user to change the frequency of sounds. You are also able to change effects such as adding a delay, creating a “pan” to give the sound a more realistic feel to it. The use of loops in Logic Pro is so that you are able to put a track on a constant repeat. For example if you have a piece of music that is 30 seconds long yet you want to have it in a song that is 3 minutes long you are able to put it on a loop and it will play over and over until you want it to stop. The Studio Live When recording in the studio, the recording will be taken from the live room and will then get transferred to the control room through wires that go through the wall. Live Control Microphone XLR Stagebox Multicore Mixing Desk
Microphone A microphone is a piece of audio recording equipment that is used to convert sound waves into electrical energy. These variations of energy can then be amplified, transmitted or recorded.
Equipment In The Studio • XLR – the XLR cable is used to transfer the sound from the microphone to the stagebox.
Stagebox A stagebox is a piece of equipment that is used a general central point for audio equipment. For example, you could have microphones, a guitar, and several other pieces of audio equipment all plugged into the stagebox which directs all of those pieces of equipment to the control room.
Multicore A mulitcore is a piece of equipment that contains several inputs to enable users to insert several different audio devices and this will be transferred to the mixing desk.
Mixing Desk A mixing desk is a console that receives sounds and is able to mix them and add effects to them. For example you are able to create a 3D effect using the group and pan buttons. The rule to using a mixing desk is that once you have learnt how to use one strip, that rule is applicable to all of the other strips. The reason for there being so many strips is because each one is designated to a specific audio device, eg microphone, guitar, etc.
Channel Strips The channel strips on a mixing desk are used to create different effects for any sounds that have been inserted. As was said in the previous slide you are able to make a 3d effect by using the pan on the mixing desk. In doing this the sound would start from one speaker and gradually move through all of the different speakers, giving a surround sound effect.
