  3. Famous type of play: Revenge Tragedies. • Famous plays: Hamlet, Macbeth, The Spanish Tragedy, Othello, etc.

  4. Novel Themes: civil wars in England, migration to “New World”, last of the witch trials, etc.

  5. “One day I wrote her name upon the strand” -Edmund Spenser • The poem contemplates love and death and how it continues after death. In 17th century, many famous plays had the hero contemplate life and death and what came afterwards.
