  4. ENEMIES OF INJECTORS = BACTERIA & DIRT To avoid bacteria, only use sterile clean new injection material. Bacteria lead to Abscesses To avoid dirt, only use sterile clean new injection material. Dirt leads to Shake (Dirty shot)

The “perfect” injection ... to avoid Bacteria and Dirt wash hands regularly and keep injection areas clean use a new needle and a new filter for each injection put pressure on wound with clean tissue as soon as the needle retrieved from vein eventually wipe with alcohol pad cover needle wound with appropriate plaster

SUMMARY Safe injection = no sharing + avoid Bacteria and Dirt A clean injection does not require much = Clean injection material in a clean place to use Think about Safety – Hygiene - Stress free Do not use alone BUT learn to injectalone Inside DCRs, talk to the users, get to know them individually and be around for the first injections and further advice. Repeat.
