BRHS Enhancement Plan:Re-think, Re-design, Re-new, Re-energize • Enhanced Learning Opportunities (ELO) - aka – tutorial time or flex blocks Provide opportunity for students to complete their learning or to enhance their learning. Ensure course success, receive extra tutoring, and encourage student ownership of their education. • Teacher Advisor Program – aka –homeroom To build relationships with students, aid in increasing academic success, and increase the social skills of our students. Build relationships through the use of portfolios and career building transition information. • Professional Development – embedded on 9 early dismissal afternoons – “PD Fridays” Professional development will focus on teacher collaboration (build strong departments and develop cross curricular projects.

Foundational Principle • BRHS students, parents and staff are committed to creating an inspiring educational experience which centres on all learners, with shared responsibility, leadership and accountability. • “For learners to achieve their full potential, education must make the child the centre of all decisions related to learning and education. Learners should be supported as individuals with learning opportunities to support their unique needs and interests.” Inspiring Education: A Dialogue with Albertans (2010) • Encourage creativity to support students unique needs and interests. • Change the timetable to allow for student choice, collaboration, and mastery learning through flexibility of pace, place and time. • Encourage interdisciplinary studies • Address assessment practices • Address “the three E’s” of education our youth: Engaged Thinker, Ethical Citizen, and The Entrepreneurial Spirit
