Manchester House Project

The Manchester House Project, led by Patrick Paradis, Ashley Watson, Lindsey Maszk, Markelle Schmaltz, Katie Larson, and Quincy Pierce, aims to empower individuals by enhancing community ties and providing support to children in need. Our mission is to bring hope and healing through the power of play and interaction. We focus on building trust, fostering educational growth, and developing friendly relationships through innovative classroom management strategies. Our project has achieved significant community engagement and personal growth, overcoming obstacles with resilience and teamwork.

  3. Project Introduction • Manchester House Mission Statement: People helping people realize their potential to live and work in the community. • Our Mission Statement: Bringing hope, healing, and inspiration through play for those who need it.

  4. Original Goals • More interaction with community • Gaining trust of children • Help them with educational improvements • Develop a friendly relationship • Classroom management (traditional and nontraditional)

  5. Achieved Goals • Gaining trust of most of the children • Developed friendly relationships • Classroom management and strategies • Planning • Transitioning • Practice general education skills • Productive and organized game planning

Reflection: • What benefits did your project provide for your community partner? • What innovations to your plan were needed for successful completion? • What value did you bring to the total success of the project? • What were your largest obstacles and how did you overcome them? • What was your overall feeling about the success of the project and its value in helping you develop leadership qualities?
