  1. The Prospective Future of Animation in today' s industry The animation industry is one of the rapidly growing industries in I ndia and is growing at a pace faster than the I T industry. Animation is a field where passion becomes profession and has one of the greatest job satisfaction. I t is all about giving your imagination wings to fly and creating an image of it on screen. I t is a process of making illusion appear real. The animation industry in I ndia, has transformed from being just an outsourcing facility to a creator of indigenous intellectual property. There are more than 300 animation studios in I ndia, which have provided employment to more than 15,000 animation professionals. Work opportunities are aplenty for quality animators and related professionals like graphic designers, multimedia and game developers, character designers, key frame animators, 3D modelers, layout artists etc in the fields of Advertising, Cartoon production, Gaming, Films, Television, Online and Print News Media, Theater and E- learning. Openings abound in the government as well as private sectors. There are many animation houses both in I ndia and abroad who work for exclusive clients. An animator and multimedia professional also has the freedom of working as a freelancer or start his/her own company. He has the creative freedom to work on his own and thereby create great products. The Asia Pacific region is expected to dominate the global 3D animation market in future as countries like China, J apan and I ndia have made inroads in the field of 3D animation, VFX, gaming and comics. The increased use of 3D technologies in fields like media and entertainment, web designing, automobiles, education. architecture, sometimes even healthcare (for medical information) and almost any other field has opened a wide road and future for aspirants. No other media can probably match the power of 3D animations in terms of visual pleasure. I t is a creative blend of art and passion and gives a different perception of an object. Rising interest in animated games and movies has been one of the major growth factors of this industry. 3D animations comes with its own advantages. I t is more realistic, appealing and exciting and 3d models can be reused for future projects. The education sector is a huge market for 3d animations as it gives a more realistic view to children and helps them learn better. Furthermore, as a lot of companies abroad, get their work outsourced, I ndia has been one of their major suppliers. Presently there is an acute shortage of manpower in I ndian Studios. Hence even people with basic animation skills are being recruited. Besides, most large international studios have a presence in I ndia, increasing the chances of global technological exposure.

  2. Animation is a significant career option. After the initial training with an animation studio, one can be employed as a junior animator with a remuneration ranging anywhere between Rs.10000 to Rs.20000. With experience, the designations and the remunerations would increase automatically. As it is a creative field there is no limit to its possibilities and your passion could be your paycheck.
