Exploring Namakan Lake: A Wildlife Haven in Ontario, Canada
Namakan Lake, located partly in Ontario and partly in Minnesota, spans over 25,130 acres and is a prime destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Surrounded by rugged wilderness, the lake is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including deer, moose, bears, and eagles. My recent four-day fishing trip there with family was unforgettable, filled with boating from Crane Lake, cabin stays, and hiking adventures. Slightly off the beaten path, Namakan Lake offers a serene escape and fantastic smallmouth bass fishing opportunities.

Bear Portage is a small river inlet on Namakan Lake. You will find the northern half of Namakan Lake in Canada and the southern half in the U.S. The place is remote, wooded, very rocky and full of wildlife such as deer, mink, otter, bald eagles, coyotes, bears, moose and wolves.
I spent four days fishing with my sons, Jeremy and Geoff, and their Grandpa, Uncle and Cousins .We boated to the camp from Crane Lake Minnesota , stayed in a cabin, fished, hiked, and had a great time. I was lucky enough to catch some great smallmouth bass!
