Lao She (1899-1966) was one of the most renowned (著名的) contemporary (当代的) Chinese writers, famous for his novels and plays. His works have been translated into over 20 foreign languages. Lao She is the pseudonym (笔名) of Shu Sheyu. His original name is Shu Qingchun.
