Our Mission Mission Statement: The mission of Harriet Tubman is to provide students with a customized quality education through rigorous standard-based instruction delivered by highly motivated teachers through their use of creativity, technology and best practice. Students will be immersed in a nurturing, learning environment that reflects their history and culture, and the expectation for them to go on to college, careers and be contributing members of our society. Student Friendly Mission Statement: The mission of this school is to provide children with a quality education, and to ensure that all students become lifelong learners who are caring, productive and responsible citizens. Vision Statement The vision of the Harriet Tubman School is to equip our community with leaders that will be well balanced academically socially and mentally. We envision an academic program that is systematic where each grade builds upon another, and all stakeholders are accountable to the growth of each child starting from Pre-K 3 through grade six. To achieve this we must provide the opportunity for faculty, staff, parents and community to develop, through communication, curricula, sense of ownership, spirit, pride in the school, and the neighborhood. Though we expect students to be prepared academically, they must also be cultivated with a sense of cultural awareness of their past, which includes an appreciation of the arts, of acceptance, of diversity, history, and the community.
