  1. Rainbows By: John http://climate.met.psu.edu/www_prod/data/frost/images/rainbow.jpg

  2. What Are Rainbows? Rainbows occur when “white” light, usually from the sun, passes through a prism (raindrops) and refracts and splits. There are many myths about the rainbow and almost all of these are fake. No, there is not a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow! http://theengagingbrand.typepad.com/the_engaging_brand_/images/istock_000001704899small.jpg http://www.hawaiipictures.com/pictures/gallery/rainbows/rainbows1-1%20copy.jpg

  3. Basic Rainbow Facts • Rainbows have an arc of 42 degrees • The colors we can see in a rainbow are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. • Rainbows appear to be circles when seen from planes http://www.grzegorzmilos.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/highway-rainbow.jpg • The sun is always behind you when you see a rainbow.

  4. Advanced Facts • A lunar rainbow is made when the moon is bright enough to have its rays refracted by a raindrop. • Double rainbows are made when not all of the energy from the ray escapes the raindrop when reflected. It is reflected again out of the drop. The second rainbow has its colors reversed. • The rainbow has every color known to man and even some colors we cannot see. http://icons-ecast.wunderground.com/data/wximagenew/m/mulvehillcreek/0.jpg

  5. Rainbow LegendsFact of Fiction? • Is there a leprechaun with his pot of gold at the end of a rainbow? FICTION • Slavonic people believed that looking at the base of a rainbow would bring death. FICTION http://www.holidayinsights.com/stpat/leprechaun1.jpg

  6. My Rainbow Picture This is a picture I took in science.

  7. White Light and Prisms Sir Isaac Newton discovered that rainbows can be made through prisms. Rainbows can’t be formed in the winter because the prisms are frozen. “White light” actually already has all or the colors a rainbow has before it goes through a prism, we just can’t see them yet.

  8. Isaac Newton Sir Isaac Newton discovered how rainbows are caused. Sir Isaac Newton also discovered gravity, and the laws of motion. http://www.ja-gps.com.au/_images/resources/sir-isaac-newton.jpg

  9. …More Rainbow Facts No one can see the same natural rainbow because the prisms (raindrops) are always moving. A primary rainbow is the easiest to see, a secondary rainbow is faint. Rainbows make people happy!
