  1. Given: Reser StadiumA fire hoseFind:The time required to fill Reser Stadium with a fire hose (assuming no leaking or seeping during the process)

  2. Estimates

  3. Method/Approach Found the estimated volume of Reser Stadium by breaking it up into basic geometric shapes. Estimated how fast a fire hose pumps out water. Divided the estimated volume by the amount of water per minute pumped out by the fire hose and converted that answer into days.

  4. Assumptions • Fire hose=100 gallons of water/minute • Dimensions for Reser Stadium: • Width: 75 Yards • Length: 150 Yards • Height: 75 Yards

  5. Solution Volume=(150*75*75)+(75*25)+((4*pi*25^2)/2) V=861332.96 Yd^3 V/100=8613.33 min. = 143.56 hr. =5.98 Days
