To earn a H.S. diploma, you must do these things… • EARN24 credit units in all required areas • Students are required to pass all required courses, End-of-Course Tests (EOCT) would now count 20% of a student's final grade. • They will still have to take and pass the Graduation Writing test. • Must complete a minimum of 20 hours of community service by the end of his/her Junior year.

Changes to HOPE Scholarshipwww.gacollege411 GRADUATING ON OR AFTER May 2015 STUDENTS MUST RECEIVE TWO CREDITS IN THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF COURSES 1) Advanced math, such as Advanced Algebra and Trigonometry, Math III, or an equivalent or higher course; 2) Advanced science, such as Chemistry, Physics, Biology II, or an equivalent or higher course; 3) Advanced placement courses in core subjects; 4) International baccalaureate courses in core subjects; 5) Courses taken at a unit of the University System of Georgia in core subjects where such courses are not remedial and developmental courses; or 6) Advanced foreign language courses.

What Things Do Admissions Counselors Look For in Students? • Quality of academic program you have taken - Have you challenged yourself? • The academic rigor of your high school courses is an important factor in the college admission process. College admission officers see your high school course schedule as a blueprint of your education. They're looking for a solid foundation of learning that you can build on in college. • To create that foundation, take at least five solid academic classes every year.
