  3. How Can Your Counselors Help You ? Individual Counseling and Advising Post-High School Plans (Planning your future after high school) Counselors Ms. Shiflett: A-Burg Ms. Maziarz : Burh-Gre Ms. Ruffin: Gri-May Ms. Makar: Mc-Schm Mrs. Gibbons Schn-Z Tutoring Information Help with social and family problems Group Counseling Course Planning and completer programs Help with study skills and working with your teachers Discuss ways to get involved at CHS and in the community

How To Schedule An Appointment With Your Counselor • Stop in the Counseling Office to see Mrs. Wilson, the secretary, or Mrs. Gender, the registrar • Let one of them know you need to schedule an appointment, and they will give you a bright orange pass • Show your teacher the pass, if he or she feels the time is okay, you will be allowed to leave the class. If not, we will reschedule your appointment • You will not be admitted in the Counseling Office without a pass • You will be given a pass to return back to class • You are responsible for any work that you missed during your appointment

  5. Graduation Requirements • All students need 26 credits to graduate • All students need a completer path • All students must take and pass the HSA exams in the following areas: Algebra 412 Biology 400 English 10 396 Government 394

  7. English Credits needed • English 9 • English 10 • English 11 or AP Language • English 12, AP Language or AP Literature Levels= Standard, Honors, Advanced Placement

  8. Social Studies credits needed • United States Government • World History • United States History There are many other social studies classes you can take such as Psychology, Sociology, Humanities etc… Levels= Standard , Honors, Advanced Placement

  9. Mathematics credits needed • Algebra 1 • Geometry • 2 mathematics elective courses (Integrated Math, Alg II, Pre-Calc, Calculus, AP Stat, College Algebra, Statistical Analysis) • ALGEBRA II IS REQUIRED FOR COLLEGE ADMISSIONS • *Algebra 1 only counts as 1 math credit

  10. Science • Biology (required) • 2 more science credits Physical Education • . 5 credit in Fit for Life • .5 credit Physical Education Elective

  11. Health • .5 credit of Health required Basic Technology • 1 credit Foundations of Technology A & B Fine Arts • 1 Credit required • Music, Photography, Art, Dance, and Theatre Arts courses

  12. Electives • 8.5 elective credits • A completer must be included in the 8.5 elective credits. Your counselor will help you with this. • Any class that does not fit on the top of your “credit check” paper will be included in your 8.5 elective credits
