DROP/ADD POLICY • Schedule changes will be permitted only during the 2nd and 3rd week of the semester. • Schedule Change Form (Pink Sheet) • Under no circumstances will schedules be adjusted to: • Change teachers • Change lunch periods (unless supported by medical documentation) • Change to more convenient and/or desirable periods • Group friends together in the same class • Take a study hall

EXPLOREACT’s College Readiness Program for 9th Graders October 12, 2011 • Highlights academic strengths and weaknesses in English, Math, Reading, and Science • Uses the results of an Interest Inventory to explore careers • Helps students choose high school courses to prepare for college and work • Introduces students to ACT format

  15. “OWNING UP”Violence Prevention Curriculum • Uses activities, writing, and discussions to encourage respect for others. • Students are empowered to stand up against bullying to make their school safe and inclusive for all people. • Helps students to develop skills and seek out support to manage various situations.

  16. NAVIANCE • Web-based resource that supports course, career, and college planning • On-line tool for collaboration among counselors, students, and parents • A letter with parent codes will be mailed home with instructions • Each student receives a code; then creates a personal account
