Program Overview Overview • Policy-focused internships • Semester long; year round (summer, fall and spring) • Locations include: Washington, D.C.; Austin, Texas and Rome, Italy • Only for College of Agriculture and Life Sciences students History • Established spring 1990 • Dr. Ron Knutson, an AGEC professor, founded the program • Added Rome, Italy in 2013 • Over 800 alumni

Locations • Rome, Italy • Hosting Organization: • Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations • Washington, D.C. • Hosting Organizations may include: • Congressional Offices • United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) • National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) • House Committee on Agriculture • Austin, Texas • Hosting Organizations may include: • Legislative Offices • State Agencies that focus on Ag & Natural Resources

  4. Program Benefits

Basic Eligibility • Be a U.S. citizen; permanent residents are not eligible. • Be in good academic and conduct standing. • Have a minimum 2.25 overall GPR; 2.5 preferred. • Have valid health insurance during the internship. • Be enrolled as an undergraduate, master’s, or Ph.D. student in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. • Be able to attend all pre-departure events in College Station, Texas. *some variation on eligibility exists by location, please visit anrp.tamu.edu for details.

Application Deadlines • Rome, Italy • Term(s): • Spring 2015 • Summer 2015 • Deadline:Friday, September 12, 2014 by 5PM • Washington, D.C. • Term(s): • Spring 2015 • Deadline: Friday, October 17, 2014 by 5PM • Austin, Texas • Term(s): • Spring 2015 • Deadline: Monday, October 13, 2014 by 5PM Completed application including transcripts, issue essay, and letter of recommendation are due to the ANRP Internship Program office by the dates above.
