  4. Lets do the maths... • Bates decorators – is a firm which paints and decorates new show homes Yorkshire. • In January, 5 painters managed to decorate 20 homes. • What is the rate of productivity?

Lets do the maths... • Bates decorators – is a firm which paints and decorates new show homes Yorkshire. • In January, 5 painters managed to decorate 20 homes. • What is the rate of productivity? • Output 20 / 5 = 4 In February – They take on another member of staff and paint 30 homes. Are they more or less efficient? Why?

Are they more or less efficient? Output 30/6 = 5 (more efficient) This shows a business that productivity is increasing.
