Examples of Successful Collaborative Cross Faculty Projects: • Evaluating End of Life Care (Liverpool Gold Standards Framework) for Older People with Dementia in a range of Care Homes (Business & Nursing) • The effect of Simulation Based Training On the Development of Expert Performance & Professional Judgement (Sports Science (RISES) & Nursing)

TARGETS: INCREASE NRS RESEARCH PORTFOLIO: • Evidence Based Practice • Pre-Hospital Urgent Care • Interventions; surviving critical care • Simulation training in healthcare education • Emotions at Work: Workforce Development and Service Use • Care of Dying • Advanced Clinical Nursing Practice: Intermediate and Continuing Care of Older People • Health care in the community

Increase research income and portfolio of research Increase successful bids, grants, submission of research proposals Ensure all teaching is evidence based Research with service users Identify research skills needs individually (RAE) Follow individual patterns of research skilling up Develop more collaborative research Develop a research culture Work collaboratively with peers in both academic and practice settings, PCT’s & NHS Trusts R & D NEW NRS AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:

CELEBRATE OUR ACHIEVMENTS! • 32 registered for an MPhil/PhD in nursing • 14 are members of SON&PCP academic staff • Extensive Advanced Practice portfolio (Nationally & Internationally) • The Emotional Labour Network (EM NET) • Successful Advancing Wound care Conference June 2006, another in 2007 • Hosting the next RCN Annual International Nursing Research Conference 7-11 April 2008 (first time in Liverpool)
